Matador: I figured out how to make the new warp cores ckightk . You need to find manufacturing facilities to get the recipe. You can unlock it from a recipe tree, so you get to pick what recipes you get now.

Matador: it takes one antimatter and 1 storm crystal to craft, but 1 hypercore acts like 5 regular warp cells

ckightk: Awesomeand that sounds easy to make

Illsent: I don't really play NMS very often anymore, but if I ever do go back, I'll be sure to check out the hub. Well, that is, as long as it's on PS4.

So I just watched the new cobra TV episode about a companion book for No Man's Sky. I have never created a thread on here, or any forum for that matter, so I figured I would since I didn't see one on this topic yet.
Anyway I was just curious to hear what other people think about this book. Such as what it could be, is it a strategy guide, or a lore book, or even a collection of things and places hello games has found over the course of development. It could even be all three. But either way let me know what y'all think.
I'm rather excited myself. I seen a picture of the book on the video and it was pretty thick. I really hope to see some lore in it. I have been reading a lot about Elder Scrolls lore lately, which is amazingly extensive. I don't expect No Man's Sky to have quite as deep of lore, at least not yet since its the first game. However this game has the potential to grow because its an entire universe.
Sean mentioned some time ago about the possibility of a companion book with a physical release, I just can't remember where I saw it (it was a video). Anyways, I think this book we see is just a prop made for the spot, not an actual book being released. If you watch the entire spot there is a lot of product placement in there, I'm feeling it's Sony hype (I mean, the guy dances on his ceiling and has a batmobile in the driveway, where's my physical batmobile??).
When and if they do come out with a physical book though, YES PLEASE!
Good point moksx that makes sense. It likely is just a prop at least for right now, but considering the game is still 7 months away there's no telling what kind of goodies hello games has in store for us by launch day.
Another question I just thought about is, I wonder if there will be some form of legendary edition for the game. If there is what do you think will be in it. There could be a ship model, or more likely a statue of the atlus or a key chain or something. Even if there isn't a special edition at all its not gonna change how I feel on the game, I just like to speculate everything I can.
A 12" Atlas statue would be pretty cool, a soundtrack with 10 selected 65DoS cuts on it, making of documentary. all the trailers and video interviews and a companion book. Art, concept, back story, history etc.
I think they have the background and game that could warrant a collection like that.
That's something I would like to see. The statue could even light up and pulsate like the logo does (if that's the atlus that is). And considering its Sean's favorite band I'm sure he would love to put a soundtrack of 65 days of static.
I would like to see a book of lore, it could be fables of past explorers or it could be the mythology of the race that started the robot police force. I would prefer lore over a documentary of creating the game.
I agree odin, I am much more partial to a lore book then anything. As big as this game is its going to need a lot of lore to bring the universe to life. And I hope they continue to expand the lore even after the game is released. We as a community could even start a timeline of major events and discoveries when the game comes out as a way to make lore as we go. I'm just a sucker for well thought out lore. I love reading about a tomb or fort in elder scrolls, and reading about battles that happened there, then going to that place unexpectedly and finding evidence of things I have read.

I think it will be a list of planets and stars that have been discovered by hello games and all that they know about it like the creatures, ruins and resources that they know of and that is why it is called the companion book. It is like a companion for you through your journey helping you out, but I am not sure.
