Matador: I figured out how to make the new warp cores ckightk . You need to find manufacturing facilities to get the recipe. You can unlock it from a recipe tree, so you get to pick what recipes you get now.

Matador: it takes one antimatter and 1 storm crystal to craft, but 1 hypercore acts like 5 regular warp cells

ckightk: Awesomeand that sounds easy to make

Illsent: I don't really play NMS very often anymore, but if I ever do go back, I'll be sure to check out the hub. Well, that is, as long as it's on PS4.

And I'll surprise myself, like I won't know even that shape of mountain could exist, for example. I've found some forms of life living in a cave and didn't know that could happen. Those are lovely moments when it just surprises me.

Very interesting interview. The part about death was particularly noteworthy to me. If you die in space you can lose your money... I thought there was earlier information that indicated your money was safe. Or is this implying that money with you is lost? Perhaps money banked is safe? Any thoughts?

Well, I think it's going to be like a lot of games:
You died!
1000 Units has been taken from your account
He's said before that there is a method of banking credits. So if you die, you'll lose any credits you have not banked.
Bank often.
As far as which butterflies, look to the left of the screen at 25 seconds. I'm sure they've been obvious to most people up to this point, but somehow I managed to not see them.

Haha yeah well maybe it's a cost to re-life/re-clone you I mean won't units/credits get "banked" as you upload stuff to a beacon? And trading, isn't that only at stations? Or will grounded stations be out of the "grid"?
Oooh I have to watch the video when I get back home then. It isn't compatible with my computer at work. Just plays the comercial then stops.

Trading is only at stations or surface-level trading posts.
As far as Units, my understanding is that uploading things simply rewards you with units, and that banking them is a separate action that you have to go out of your way to do, such as maybe stopping by a station or trading post. This means that you can't just go on extremely long treks and make hundreds of thousands of units without taking a serious risk from being away from "civilization" for too long.

So then perhaps you have to actually fly to a space station to bank the credits you've gotten from trading outposts and beacons? Sounds legit to me. Just never really thought of it that way before.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. A sort of "create your own checkpoint" type thing. You can be as risky as you want, and stay out at long as you want, but the longer you stay away from a bank (wherever it is), the more you stand to lose. Don't forget that this game is supposed to have a survival aspect to it as well!

It seems I struck a chord on the losing your money when dying in space question. Of course I know this is a survival game, and death in survival games is supposed to have a significant penalty. How significant the penalty will effect play style. I'm sure there was an interview with Sean Murray where he said you kept you money through death. I just can't find it. Does anyone else have the same recollection or have a link to the interview?
