Illsent: Are the console and PC servers merged now?
Aug 28, 2019 17:57:40 GMT
Matador: I figured out how to make the new warp cores ckightk . You need to find manufacturing facilities to get the recipe. You can unlock it from a recipe tree, so you get to pick what recipes you get now.
Aug 28, 2019 19:03:11 GMT
Matador: it takes one antimatter and 1 storm crystal to craft, but 1 hypercore acts like 5 regular warp cells
Aug 28, 2019 19:03:56 GMT
ckightk: Awesomeand that sounds easy to make
Aug 28, 2019 19:44:28 GMT
ckightk: And the servers have the same seed but its not cross platform
Aug 28, 2019 19:45:07 GMT
ckightk: Btw the new hub is looking great. And we got farms to make you rich as fuck
Aug 30, 2019 2:17:41 GMT
ckightk: Does anyone else want to join
Sept 2, 2019 15:54:51 GMT
Illsent: I don't really play NMS very often anymore, but if I ever do go back, I'll be sure to check out the hub. Well, that is, as long as it's on PS4.

@strahbir group/s still in it's/their infancy at this stage. basically think of a group as a clan or guild. A group of like minded people. In BC we are generally all interested in as you say, the exploration side of the game. For example a post from @zimbakin outlining his creation of a group.
So basically if you decide to start or join a group of like minded players then post up a recruitment thread or ask around to see if anyone is starting agoup for your choice of gameplay. As yet we have so little knowledge of how effective such a group could be, but it's just a grouping of like minded folk at this stage and time will tell whether groupings on the forum will enhance our enjoyment. But it does allow us as group members to see who is of like mind, so we can if need be communicate between us when sharing information as well as in other areas of the site here. Basically as of now, it's a bit of fun among like minded folk. With no other direction at this stage.
Add 1 cup of newbsauce, let simmer at 150º for 1 hour.
So there are groups. And i kind of figured the best place to go to find out about the groups was "Groups". Only i still dont really know what is going on.
Im assuming cartographers will add to enms by mapping out everything, and then the guardians will...chase pirates? Im not sure because i dont see much explanation in this thread, and there is no thread in guardians. Also how does one join a group? And what does membership entail? Is there a mascot or fancy party where you get to wear a costume?
Sorry for the lengthy post but as the new guy i just wanted to point out its not clear.
As for now, since the game isn't even out. The whole group set up is to help welcome people. The lore and reasoning will come into play once the game comes out. Guess we will just have to wait
Martin Requiem has kindly organised the Group forums a little better. There are now some more areas for posting various information for Groups to apply and also for exsisting groups to advertise, and lay out our overarching goals as a group. A description of our group, our goals, our politics etc, for potential members wishing to join.
So we may need to get our heads together and come up with some form of introduction and explanation of our group and it's activities to come, in the time we will have a presence either in/and/or out of the game, through these boards using document and other media and sharing mediums.
While I can talk the ears off a donkey myself, I think either Utopian Sanity or @moksx would be good candidates for drawing up such a Description/Group Bio and possibly a CoC (Code of Conduct) much as any guild would. Having said that I am sure input as a group from all present members would be of benefit in this process.
If we do thrash something out as a group, then we could need a common forum to discuss these issues outside of public view, or, thrash something out here, or leave it to the two people I have mentioned already to communicate and draw up an outline. Does not need to be too formal obviously, as this is all fun and just adds flavour to the group and helps inform people who may want to join us in the future. Even a simple thread that has been moderated to only accept members could possibly be set up, or some small chat forum somewhere if need be. Even a google+ hangout could be used as they can be tailored for member/circle?
If open and informal I am easy with that too. Just throwing out ideas at this stage. The group will be open and informal I am sure anyhow and most discussion and input/output will be in other areas of the forum anyhow.
Utopian Sanity formed the group and therefore is group leader and @moksx has a great way with words and has a spot on view of what an explorer is, as well as great enthusiasm for the game, understands what the game is offering and I have found all his discussions on the subject of NMS to be clear, informative and he has a way with words that enthuses me every time I read his output. Lol
So basically posting this just to get a little bit of brainstorming up in regards to our groups aims and ambitions if any that could draw in players with a similar mindset to the way we feel about the game and our presence in NMS.
That's a really good idea sunlion ! I think that Utopian Sanity might actually already have started writing something about the group before?
We could always spit something simple out then keep working on that? I think it might be more important to get something out there that's like a start and then keep working on that. So like what Martin Requiem suggests in the Example Thread then a CoC, who to contact if you want to join and such things. Then moving on to maybe writing a longer background story and as you suggest perhaps setting up a G+ Hangout or a Website or something like it.
Goodie! Its up to @moksx if he feels he has the capacity to take on the tasks suggested above by sunlion. Every group needs a leader of course the founder Utopian Sanity comes first to mind?
I really like the idea of cartographers, just the role they played in history and the impact maps have on people to this day. Maps help us find our way, define our environment and undetstand it properly. Good maps are good representations of reality (in a functional way), bad maps distort reality. Making maps have impact on how people perceive the world, thats pretty cool!
Is there anybody out there? Or am I all alone in no man's sky?
One remark that Shawn made, was that in our ingame panel, we have a way to keep a record of every planet we have visited, like a crumb trail I guess. That should prove interesting neaer the center maybe. If our courses intersect at one system it broadens the map for all of us should anyone like to keep a record of all our pathways through the galaxy. An intersection if we spotted it would be really cool in bulking out the larger map. Will try and do a quick sketch in Inkscape to show what I mean later, hehe, just got in from work so coffee and a chill first.
And moksx, hope you did not mind me having you in mind to do a paragraph for us? But I think you embody the explorer mindset from what dialogue we have shared over the forums so far.
Not sure how to progress with this yet until Utopian Sanity drops by. I would just go for it @moksx if you feel able, and we can always change it on his return if needs be? Your thoughts @moksx ? hehe, not meaning to put this on you, but your passion and knowledge are suited to something like an itroduction to us and our aims (though vague until we can learn more of the mechanics).
We are basically of the Exploration mindset, keen on gathering and recording data on the Systems, Planets, Flora and Fauna, and whatever Lore, sentience, evidence of older civilisations we come across. Sharing that information here on site (as NMS fans), and with those that would ally with us in also sharing information (in Roleplay fashion).
(Indeed the Many Tentacled have already shown interest in sharing knowledge with us in a reciprocal way)
Hehe, aye, often feel my age but not often my beauty. >.<
I don't mind fronting if Utopian does not return, as we will hopefully be all of the same, if not similar mind anyhow in regard to the groups aims (as people know what we are about and sign up), so it's basically just a frontman post anyhow. Not like it will take the work and effort of a guild leader.
The writeup hopefully will outline our group and we will get those of like mind. So aye, go for it @moksx And as you say we can alter as needed, does not have to be a tight ship affair like a guild article and CoC would be.
