Illsent: My thoughts exactly. Sometimes I wonder why a game I thought I'd like -- like NMS -- I end up liking a lot less than a game I thought I wouldn't like -- such as DOOM 2016. I think pacing is a huge part of that. If NMS had better pacing and was...

Illsent: ...much faster, it would pull in a lot more people, myself included. Less grind is paramount to that.

Illsent: Ah well. Plenty of other good space games. I'd recommend Starbound; it's objectively not a fantastic game, but I love it anyway, and it's at minimum a 7/10 (though I would give it an 8/10).

Illsent: Sort of funny I'd rate one of my favorite games lower than games I like less. Guess it just goes to show a game doesn't need to be objectively perfect to be a really good experience.

ckightk: Yeah most of my issues are I want shit to do on a planet like enemy shit on land and bandit camps but more importantly reasons to search a planet for anomalies or dungeons

At the beginning I still had my Fighter The Mabaethu from pre Next So it didnt have to change. Although after a bit of work I eventually got my next fighter I called "The Stryke" x since I'm gonna put a close combat loadout on it. It came with a decent hyperdrive too.
I got a nice bonus start thanks to all my old tech being obsolete. So I had a nice 5 million Unit start. I like that there's more to do with freighter gameplay too. It's always been a thing I wanted so that I could build the 4H in the game.
So overall I'm impressed with current state of NMS and still want to see more.
I think I'm gonna be spending more hours in ni mans sky. Fuel is easy. Upgrades are Easier. Money is flying my way.
I didnt restart my game thankfully. And getting the freighter is awesome. My broke ass could never afford a freighter but now that they just hand them off I'm doing the missions and I'm finally progressing the way I wanted to. The G.P.F shall rise again!!!
Gotten to play it for about 16 hours or so, and it has definately been the best time I've had with the game since launch. Actually, it has been the best time I've had with any game for a while. The game looks better, the planetary generation is much improved, the missions feel more rewarding, base building is alot better, the fleet system is awesome (I've barely gotten to test it out though), third person perspective and character costumization are great, multiplayer works better than I expected and overall I feel like I'm more free to do what I want to do instead of having to grind for materials all the time. I have encountered a lot of bugs though, but I expect those to be fixed in the following patches. And even if they're not, I'd rather have a fun game that's a bit rough around the edges than a boring, but polished one.
